This is just a quick note on a recent project I have attempted. I have always enjoyed  timelapses when done well and taught I’d give it a go. I had even considering purchasing some hardware, maybe a second hand Go Pro, as I didn’t want to put that kind of shutter count on my DSLR . Ended up using the Iphone just to give it a try.  Even with the restrictions that apple put on you in terms of your in ability to control any settings, they certainly make it very easy.

 The biggest issue was getting it steady and level. I edited it together using Final cut pro, itself a big learning experience. There are one or 2 clips where I have used the DSLR in video mode and I just sped up the footage, which I think looks even better in some cases. Music provided by 7 Year old Kate Russell (again captured on an Iphone). 

Short update, I used the same technique to capture some timelapses during a trip to Wicklow which you can see here
