Another study of one of the many stunning beaches on the Copper Coast. Most of these images date back quiet a few years and this process of going through the archives has fueled much of this post.

See this map in the original post

The beach is located near Annestown village and is easily accessible with plenty of car park spaces and easy access to the beach.   It is accessible at all tide levels but would probably target a mid to high tide for the best photographic opportunities, in my opinion.

The one characteristic I like about the beach is that the cliffs on the east side take on really strong color at sunset almost throughout the year, due to their geological makeup. There also plenty of smaller sea stacks along this stretch of coast, maybe not as impressive as some in the region but nice to explore, especially heading west.  As with most of the beaches along the coast here the sand has shifted considerable over the time I have been visiting so this can help with bring new opportunities. The color of the sand in some sections of the beach is very black, often peppered with beautiful white and copper colored stones and can make for some interesting subjects, if looking down interests you more than looking up!

Of all the beaches on the copper coast to make images at its probably my least favorite, I think maybe its because the compositions I have come up feel repetitive, often using the sweep of the beach up to the cliffs and sea stacks. The color tones of the cliffs and sea stacks seem to work better in color than my usual Blank and White. To see what you think here are a few in B&W.

For the next post I think I may start to revisit areas I have already posted blog posts from. Some date back a few years now and I have since returned many times and have new images and new takes on some of the places I have featured here before. I’m far from finished exploring the Copper Coast and have plenty of new locations to explore more fully to satisfy myself that I have done them justice .
